Special Education Advocacy

Here's my approach

I work with families who are navigating special education for the first time or amending and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plans. Families may need additional support in terms of initiating assessments, assistance prior to and during meetings, understanding assessments, drafting or revising goals and obtaining the most beneficial accommodations and services for children.

Please note: vouchers for home study students cannot be used for special education advocacy services.

What Advocacy Looks Like

  • Consultation

  • Plan development

  • IEP/504 Review

  • IEP/ 504 Goal Support

  • IEP/ 504 Meeting Support

  • IEP/504 Accommodation/Services Recommendations

Consultation

We discuss the current needs of your child, potential assessments, the current IEP/504 or proposed IEP/504 and develop a support plan that provides targeted accommodations to help your child achieve. Explanation what the IEP/504 process looks like from a parent and child standpoint.

IEP/504 Goal Review

I can help families develop targeted, appropriate goals that are meaningful for your child to achieve academic success.

IEP/504 Meeting Support

I can attend IEP/504 meetings to support families in understanding the assessments administered, academic achievement, areas of deficits and how it translates to potential learning disabilities or other health impairments that may cause academic challenges.

Please contact me for more details and pricing.  Advocacy services range from $500-$1,200 depending on the support level needed.
